A New Year - New Blog Post

I decided to start blogging again as a way to document our lives for family and friends and a way for me to remember all the important happenings in our crazy life.

A lot has happened since the last post in 2011, we moved from our house in Powell in May of 2011 to an apartment in Dublin for 8 months while we built our new home in Plain City.  The building process was fun, stressful, and exciting all at the same time.  The apartment (re-apartment as Kennedi called it) was very small, but enjoyed having the pool in the summer and also could walk to our favorite park in Dublin off Sawmill.  while in the apartment we also discovered we were pregnant with number 3, was an exciting time in our lives but had a lot going on with working full time, Chris's dad sick and building.

We moved into the new house in December of 2013, I was 13 weeks pregnant.  Kennedi and Tenley loved the new house and bonus is that they had built in playmates in our next door neighbors.  The day we moved into the house Chris's parents and my parents helped get us settled and cabinets full.  Chris's dad was very sick but wanted to stay one night before he passed and he got his wish and stayed twice before sadly passing in Feb 2013 from a very long and curageous battle with cancer.  My kids all have a special angel looking over them, forever in our hearts.

On June 5th, 2014 we welcomed the long awaited arrival of Mr. Hunter Homan (the last hope to carry on the family name) and he weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz - smallest baby but also 2.5 weeks early.  I had a complicated pregnancy with high blood pressure with him which meant a lot of doctor's visits and non-stress tests.  He was born after a quick delivery and complication free - he was perfect like all our other kids.  He looks a lot like Kennedi, but also can see Tenley in  him.

He was a pretty good baby - slept decent and ate like a champ.  His sisters adored him and always fought over who would get to feed him or burp him.  Tenley would always tell people that was her baby and then kennedi would kindly reminder her that he was not her baby.   He didn't put weight on his legs until 7 months which worried us a bit, but true hunter fashion when the doctor told him he would need to do PT he started putting weight on his legs.  Since it took him so long to stand, he was delayed in sitting which I believe was around 8 months.  He quickly learned to crawl around 9 months and was walking at 15 month.  He was a very late walker compared to the girls - Kennedi right at a year and Tenley at 9.5 months.

Summer of 2014 was filled with many memories with friends, family and pool.  Kennedi was able to finally learn to swim across the pool to earn a wristband to be able jump off the diving board.  Tenley loved playing with her babies, swimming and of course keeping a watchful eye on Hunter.

Fall 2014 - Chris, the girls, Judy and I all had a vacation of a lifetime when we went to Disney World in November.  This vacation was filled with many magical memories I will cherish for a lifetime.  We stayed at Art of Animation in a suite and went to the parks all 6 days.  Some of the highlights included all our character meals but the special ones were with the princesses in Akerhaus in Epcot and in the Castle in Magic Kingdom.  Kennedi loved the daily parade at MK, dance party in the street and of course when Anna and Elsa lit the castle.  Tenley loved pushing her stroller around and the little roller coaster (barnstomer) in MK...both of their eyes lit up when they saw Anna and Elsa.

Our holidays were great, busy as always but such a special time of year to re-charge and spend time with loved ones.  Kennedi and Tenley were super excited for Santa and loved all their gifts.  Hunter actually was into the entire process and loved opening his gifts and trying to peek at what it was before it was completely open.

Look forward to capturing the memories with our family.

I am back....

I have taken a LONG hiatus from this blog and realized that I need to start it back up to keep family and friends updated on our lives. But, most importantly a documented reminder of what our lives were like raising our two precious daughters.

Let's recap since I last updated....

I got pregnant Jan 2010 with our sweet precious, Miss Tenley Elizabeth...we did not find out what we were having this time and she was a big surprise once she arrived.

I had a somewhat easy pregnancy, but towards the end battled high bp and also lack of movement on Miss T's part.

She was born, September 27 2010...we had a schedule induction and we arrived at the hospital at 10 for a noon induction. After a few hours of potocin the contractions started and once they broke my water I dialted very quickly. Thank goodness the doctor was already at the hospital delivering another patient, because it only took a few pushes and she was out.

Miss Tenley was an even 8 pounds and was perfect, she looked just like her baby sister when she was born but now looks like my side of the family (grandma Kremer to be exact).

Miss Tenley nursed like a champ and decided that's all she wanted, lol, so it was a long road with her through the year. She also was a horrible sleeper and couldn't tolerate many foods so I was on a strict diet to allow her comfort. Through all the trials, it was all worth it and we made it through :).

Miss Tenley started rolling over at 6 months and quickly turned around at 7 months and started crawling. She started to walk at 10 months and took off very quickly. She also beat her sister in the teeth department and got her first tooth around 5 months (Kennedi was 9 months if I recall). She now has 8 teeth at 13 months. She can say Bye, Bye, Jane, Mamma, Dadda, Daisy at 14 months :).

Miss Tenley is now a year old and she is running around and playing with Kennedi more and more. She is a gentle soul who LOVES to be held, hugged, kissed and cuddled. She is my affectionate one.

What has Kennedi been up to?

She is now 3 years old and is my little princess/diva. She has a princess dress on every night after Janes and all day on the weekends, lol. She loves dance class and she loves her make-up (uh oh)...She is very independent and knows what she wants, sometimes too much but she gets it honestly. Oh, should say she dances around the house ALL day and night haha an dloves to look at herself in the fireplace reflection :).

Kennedi memory lane...

Kennedi was fully potty trained at 2 years and had a little regression after Miss Tenley but at 2.5 months she was accident free. Once we figured out the princess dresses were the key and took them away she decided quickly to become a big girl and be potty trained.

Kennedi loves all things water and spent the summer going to Zoomie Zoomie (local waterpark at the zoo - Zoombezie Bay). She always went to princess camp and learned the Hello Song which she can still recite. She enjoyed the week with her friends, Leah and Abby. We also spent a lot of the summer inside due to the extreme heat and when it finally cooled down many nights at the park.

Kennedi loves her papa and grandma Judy and Grandma and GrandPA Kremer. She truly loves her grandparents and enjoys the time we spend with them. She is one spoiled girl by both and they laugh at her dancing around the house and singing.

Chris and I are doing well, just busy with the kids and spending time with family. Please keep Chris's family in your prayers as we go through the cancer journey with his Dad.

I will post pictures in the next post....

WOW .....LONG TME

I can't believe it has been almost 6 months since my last post. So much has happened and Kennedi has gotten so BIG. She is cruising around and into everything. She loves her baby doll, music and getting into all my cabinets. We are close to celebrating our 2nd Christmas with Kennedi and she is going to LOVE it this year and the ability to rip into all the presents. I can't wait for her to meet Santa and see her reaction to the fella. I hope everyone has safe travels and wonderful time spending time with Family and Friends. I am thankful for my family and cherish the time we can spend together.

Please pray for those folks that are sick and pray that their Faith can get them through the hardship and trust in the Lord.

I will post recent pictures soon...that's another thing I have gotten bad with but probably because Kennedi will not sit still long enough to get a picture.

Pictures - May 2009

10 1/2 months!

I can't believe Miss Kennedi is almost one! I just ordered her birthday invitations and was beside myself the entire time, is it possible that a year has already gone by since having our gift from god? At times it seemed time was at a standstill and nights seemed long, but overall the time has flown if that makes sense.

So much has changed with our little monkey. She is getting into EVERYTHING...she loves dog food, plant soil, any type of paper, lol and of course FOOD. She is crawling on all 4's and pulling herself up everywhere - crib, entertainment center, chairs, couches, gates, bath tub, toliet (she loves to dip her hands in the pot, so please make sure you flush if she is around, hahah).

Bringing Kennedi to the pool is right around the corner and I am excited to bring her with me to the pool this summer. I think she is going to be a fish like her mommy, because she screams when I take her out of the bath tub.

Oh, wanted to share Hi is now in Kennedi's vocabulary. She sticks her hand up and says, Hiiiii (really soft voice), it's so cute. So, we have Hi, Mommy, Daddy and screams.

Well I will leave you with recent pictures of the Miss Kennedi.

9 Months Old

Wow, I am getting really bad at keeping this blog updated - I need to do a better job at keeping everyone updated on our little Miss Kennedi Sue. Well she is getting more mobile, we had to move her crib bed down so that the Little Miss couldn't jump out of the bed. We caught her a few mornings standing up and leaning over and figured it was time we moved the bed down. She is still army crawling, as been for weeks, and she has finally started to "walk" with the help of mom or dad's hands or leaning on a toy. She is quickly learning and I am sure will be walking before we know it, scary how fast they grow.

I am really looking forward to warmer weather and more trips to the park. Kennedi loves the swing and all of the people at the park keeps her entertained.

I have found a new hobby, having a baby has really brought out my domestic side and I am starting to call myself the domestic diva, lol. I have been making Kennedi's hairbows for awhile now and now have begun making outfits for her. The pictures below of Kennedi in a yellow/black outfit is my 1st attempt at an outfit. It was not as hard as what I thought and I learned a lot in the process. I have fun being creative and picking fabrics for outfits. I will try and post the outfits as I make them.

Check out our little diaper wearing baby "walking". I will try and upload more videos of her, she loves to talk and her favorite word is daddaaddadddaadda.

8 Months Old

Well the weather seems to be getting better and it's always good to have more daylight. I am welcoming the weather and hope it lasts, because this winter has been so brutely cold and lots of snow. I can't wait to get Kennedi out to the park to swing on the baby swings and take walks with her.

Some firsts for Kennedi this month so far....she got her 1st tooth last week and she is starting to scoot a bit. She is on the verge of crawling and as soon as she figures it out she is going to be gone and in EVERYTHING. Time to baby proof the house even though it is already dog proof. Our baby is growing so quickly and now I can be assured she will not be at her 1st birthday party and toothless, haha. Speaking of her 1st birthday, I can't believe we are 4 short months to her 1st birthday.

I will leave you with some picture of the growing girl!

Joy Rides in our Front Lawn

Well the Homan household has had our share of cars in our front lawn the past two days :). We could start a used car lot! Let me explain...

We had a car lose control on the curve in front of our home and the driver took a quick joy ride around the front lawn in front of our garage and hitting our tree while he/she was on the way out. Whoever decided to make a few tracks in our lawn decided not to let us know that they just had a joy ride our lawn before heading out via our driveway.

Then, Monday as I am working at home my dogs begin barking and barking at the front door. After a few failed attempts to get them to stop barking I finally got up from work to see what the noise was all about. To my amazement a 2nd car was in our front yard on the other side this time. A lady in our subdivison also hit some patch that was slick and went straight up our driveway and off to the left of the driveway through our lawn. So, after all the hard work by Chris and lawn companies to get our lawn looking great we now have lots of tire tracks through our entire front lawn. We are thankful no one was hurt.

Other than the lovely weather and eventful cars in our lawn things are pretty quiet and uneventful in our home. Kennedi continues to grow and become a big girl so fast. She loves her food and she has been sleeping in her crib pretty well each night. We have been so thankful she has been so healthy most of the winter thus far and hope that continues. Kennedi continues to roll like a champ and she is sitting on her own already!

Also, I wanted to say congrats to our neighbors and friends - Nick and Tricia who welcomed home a beautiful baby girl on Sunday Jan 25th (her actual due date). Addison, Mom and Dad are doing well and I can't wait to meet her and hold a newborn again.

Enjoy the recent pictures of Kennedi Sue in her Bumbo we are borrowing from my sweet cousin Amy. Thanks Amy for letting Kennedi us it, we love it....
